The Scariest Movie Scenes

Some films aren’t scary by design, but happen to have creepy and shocking moments that deserve special recognition.

Thus retroCRUSH’s list is not a true ‘Scariest Scenes Of All Time’ list. It contains many scenes that aren’t scary at all but perhaps make you look twice or cringe a little or marvel at the effects.

For my money ‘The Evil Dead’ and ‘The Exorcist’ provide actual ‘heeby-jeeby’ action (especially to a young child as I was when I first saw these movies).

But while there are certainly off-putting moments on the list, for most when you look at the whole movie the pulse is quite constant throughout. I love the 70’s ‘The Invasion of the Body Snatchers’ and that scream is so very cool but is it a scary movie? Only Don’s mustache scares me …
